It’s great to live where you can vacation!
Lake County is a beautiful place to live and work, and the scenery is absolutely breathtaking!
We recently took a private boat tour from Lake Dora through the Dora Canal out to Lake Eustis.
During our ride, we were able to view some amazing sights – an eagle’s nest high up in the trees and birds of prey hunting for fabulous fish finds in the lake below. Birds of prey are amazing creatures, and there is an abundance of opportunity to view them. The Dora Canal is the perfect place for bird watching, and visitors and residents tour the canal to enjoy the various waterfowl, some of which are unique to this area.
The Dora Canal is an amazing site to behold, and it boasts cypress trees that are hundreds of years old. Various homes face the canal, and if you are lucky, you just might be able to view a gator or two lounging about on the shore.
If you have a boat, you can access Lake Dora quite easily. There are two public boat ramps available for use, including one on the northern shore of Tavares and another on the eastern side of Mount Dora. Both areas have ample parking as well as boat lifts.
Do not have a boat? No problem! There are boat tours that leave from Downtown Mount Dora regularly, including scenic sunset tours. Boat rentals are also available if you prefer a self-guided tour.
If you are in another state and wish you were here, please sit back, relax and enjoy our time-lapse video tour.
